The Tiger Tree offers an opportunity for students and families to give back to their friends at school, and student council found a way to use a fundraising opportunity for their club as a chance to practice The Frenship Way. One morning, extra bright and early, they decided to paint shiny, red noses on their classmates in exchange for 50 cents.

"We usually paint reindeer noses every year as a fundraiser to help build our personal Student Council account," said Tiffany Cortez, one of the Student Council sponsors. "This year we have been talking a lot about helping those in our school and in our community and when brainstorming ways that we could help our school, a member suggested we use our yearly reindeer fundraiser to help the Upland Heights giving tree so that their fellow students have a great Christmas."

The Student Council made posters to advertise for the Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer event, put out reminders over the morning announcements, and even had it mentioned in afternoon announcements. Students made sure to show up to school early the day of the event to set up each painting station as they prepared for their classmates to walk into school. 

In just 30 minutes, 175 noses were painted which resulted in almost $100 to go towards the Tiger Tree and students in need! 

"The students were really excited to know that the money raised would go to friends at Upland Heights and help give them an awesome Christmas," said Cortez. 

Julie Little, Student Council sponsor, said the members of the student council are great kids who understand the meaning of selfless acts. 

"We have a great group of students that are willing to serve others and give whenever they are asked," said Little. "They are great leaders at Upland Heights and great examples of The Frenship Way - always giving to others and thinking of others before themselves."
