Frenship High School, FHS Ninth Grade Center, Heritage Middle School, Oak Ridge Elementary, and Upland Heights Elementary all participated in this year’s Miracle Pennies Program. Between the five Frenship schools, students raised nearly $8,000 to give back to the program that supports the UMC Children’s Hospital and Children’s Miracle Network.

“UMC Children’s Hospital is the only partner of the Children’s Miracle Network on the South Plains; a partnership that allows us to bring everyday miracles to our region,” said Misti Welch, Director of Children’s Miracle Network. “Every Dollar you donate stays right here in Lubbock and will directly benefit the kids at UMC Children’s Hospital.”

From dodgeball tournaments and dress up days to face painting and raffles, the schools held various events to bring in money for the program. At the end of two weeks, the Ninth Grade Center earned the Top High School Fundraiser award with $2,124 and Heritage Middle School was awarded the All-Star Fundraiser bringing in $2,426.

"CMN fundraising gives the students and staff of the NGC a unifying purpose in the Spring. It aligns with the school's mission of changing lives and giving back to the community," said Justin Burrus, Ninth Grade Center Principal.
